FIR registration being ensured, says IGP

SOLID measures are being put in place to ensure registration of FIRs without any problem so that speedy dispensation of justice to the people can be ensured.

Inspector General of Police Punjab Shaukat Javed stated this in an open court held at Central Police Office on Tuesday where 23 individuals lodged their complaints with him. One Muhammd Imran of Jhang District complained that some criminals kidnapped his daughters and kept them at their Dara for one month.

However, local police registered a case in this regard but was not arresting the accused, as they were very influential. The accused were also threatening him with dire consequences if he did not withdraw the case against them.

The IGP tasked DPO Jhang to constitute a special team of senior police officers and present to him the progress report in this regard within ten days.

Another complainant Serwari Begum from Faisalabad apprised the IGP that her daughter was on way to school when two vagabonds Adnan and Qamar took her forcibly to nearby fields and raped her (daughter). But none of the culprits was arrested by the area police, she added.

The IGP directed the CPO Faisalabad to take steps for early arrest of the accused besides taking to task the police officials who extended unlawful favour to the vagabonds and report to him within three days. Khadim Hussain from Multan complained that three persons had injured her wife by throwing acid.

The police arrested culprit who was nominated in the FIR but his other two unknown accomplices were giving him life threats. The Provincial Police Officer directed the relevant DPO to ensure arrest of the other two criminals at the earliest.
