NAUSHAHROFEROZE: A poverty ridden villager on Saturday came to the Moro city market and presented his seven children, all sons between three to 11 years of age, for sale but could not find a buyer till evening and left the city for his village in a state of hopelessness.

Reports said the villager, Lal Bux Leghari, hailing from Haji Muhammad Bux Leghari village, arrived in Moro city along with his seven sons with ages between three to eleven years and asked the market men if they wanted to buy his sons.

The father and his sons were carrying banners on which it was mentioned that a buyer is needed for the children.

They went around the city and later staged a sit-in outside the Moro Press Club where talking to local newsmen the villager said that due to extreme poverty that he was facing since long, he could not afford to bring up his children. He said that Eid was coming closer and his economic position did not allow him to buy them new clothes and meet other Eid expenses hence he had decided to sell out his sons.

However, on assurance of Haji Khan Bhatti, the Political Assistant to MNA Faryal Talpur, that he would soon be provided financial assistance, Lal Bux returned to his village. He went back in a state of frustration as not a penny was put in the pocket of this nervous man, witnesses said.
