Call for Justice for Man Tased in Vancouver Airport‏

Robert Dziekanski arrived at the Vancouver International Airport on Oct. 13, 2007, and was shocked by a Taser by the Royal Canadian Mountain Police (RCMP) and died. It is now one year later, and the government has yet to conduct a full investigation of Dziekanski’s death. Call for the investigation to start now!

Many issues surrounding Dziekanski remain unsettled, such as whether the RCMP used excessive force or not. It is imperative to investigate what happened so that justice can be executed and to prevent this event from repeating itself.

Citizens and visitors to Canada need to trust that they will be treated fairly and humanely by the RCMP and the Canadian government. Even more importantly, Dziekanski’s family deserves to have closure and know the exact details about his death. Let us not forget this tragedy– let us stand in solidarity and call for justice without delay!
