Number of children at CPWB rising

LAHORE: The number of children, who are abandoned, orphan or homeless is increasing at the Child Protection and Welfare Bureau (CPWB), City-42 reported on Wednesday.

The television channel said that the bureau provided lodging and food to the children, besides education and vocational training to enable them to live a productive life when they grew up.

At least 306 boys and 86 girls reside at the bureau.

CPWB Director General Muhammad Khalid told the channel that the bureau’s aim was to look after the children during their stay at the bureau, and reunite them with their parents.
