ISLAMABAD: Federal Human Rights Minister Mumtaz Alam Gilani on Wednesday introduced a bill in the National Assembly to provide for the setting up of the National Commission for Human Rights.
The National Commission for Human Rights Bill 2008 will pave the way for establishing human rights courts in each district. The bill proposes the provincial government might, with the concurrence of the high court chief justice, specify for each district a court of session to be a human rights court to try offences under the bill.
